SUPERFOOD: Almonds

Nuts, you can see it as a good snack or as candy… you have them in all tastes and sizes. But I personally never liked them, not necessarily the taste but how you chew it. But my colleague told me a while ago that almonds are very good as a afternoon snack and that you can call them superfood. But I didn’t do much with that information because I just didn’t like nuts and there are many superfoods I eat daily. But than I read on the instagram from a girl with amazingly long, big, shiny hair that she eat many almonds for her hair, and that changes things. Superfood + superhair! So I did my research  and run to the ‘nuts store’ to try the almonds.

They taste soooo different than normal nuts! Taste like vanilla or something?! And they are full of vitamins & minerals and good for the heart, brains and your digestion. If you make a routine from a daily handful of almonds (about 24 pieces) it can help to lower your “bad” cholesterol, reduce, the risk of heart disease and diabetes. There are many more reasons why they are healthy for you, but these must be enough to add almonds to your daily routine.

* You can eat them as a afternoon snack like I do, or you can mix them in a smoothie, biscuits or even cupcakes, you can make almond butter or almond milk. There are many things you can make with the delicious almonds. Let’s be creative!

FREE PEOPLE; Movement

We all want to look good, especially when we are training! (yeah!) It is even extra motivation. It always makes me excited to go out for a run or doing yoga in the woods if I have new gear. That’s why I reward myself after I have reached a new goal, it really helps girls!

SHOCKING:

Now I understand “the grown-ups” mostly the mothers who complain about their weight and be to busy for taking care of their body. Doesn’t make time for workouts and only eat the quick meals.

A while ago I didn’t understand that, how can you not have time? “MAKE TIME, you want to lose weight? Go to the gym, even if it is for a half an hour, isn’t so hard is it? Lying on the couch or have a workout that makes you feel better when your done.” But now when I experience the “adult life” I completely understand!!

I am so tired after a whole day at work, I try to go to the gym and workout but it is not like I did before. After 3 months now, I gain 5 kg!! OH MY GODNESS!! I know ey, it is shocking! But what did I expect? Trained not so much as I did before (even skipped sometimes) and all day I sit on a computer and eat. Not candy, cookies and chocolate but without my daily movement and without training you obviously see much difference. So to now I had to search for another way… something had to change.

– Instead of going home with the car, I went back on my skates (15 km). I do this once a week. It is hard, specially if your not used to skate. So I recommend to train a bit before you skate 15 km in a day.
– At work I only eat fruit and vegetables (no other “healthy”cookies or snacks just the fruit and vegetables), I try to make good meals with it so I am not getting hungry and small pieces for a snack.
– I found out that I eat more when I sit all day, think everybody does that. Anyway, I try to change the food for water and tea. Luckily I love tea, so it isn’t hard for me to drink it, and everytime when i get a ‘hungry in cookie’ feeling I drink a glass or water or tea.
– It sound silly but when I am alone in the office or when I go to the toilet I do a few squats. I don’t know if this will help a lot but it give me more motivation because I have the feeling that I do a good job! HAHA! I do 10 till 20 squats because I don’t want to sweat and that like 5 times a day?
– No extra salt, I use to put salt on everything, I knew it wasn’t good but I couldn’t eat it without. But I was so shocked from the 5kg that i thought: Ok I drink a lot now and I can eat salty food cause I only enjoy it the 5 minutes that I eat it. So those 5 minutes non-salty eating isn’t the worst thing. I just need to learn to eat without salt.

Hi lovely’s, how was your weekend?

Mine was very good, it was a relaxed weekend with a lot of fun. Saturday night we had a dinner with Mikey’s Sister and her boyfriend. And after that we went bowling with Brenda & Nick. It was so much fun, me and Brenda were sure that if we drink enough wine that we could win, but that didn’t work out very well. Haha!

We order a ‘sex on the beach’ and we asked the guys for only 1 nice photo, but they were pretending that they made pictures of us but they made this kind of selfies! HAHA!

And yesterday we slept till eleven in the morning, we had to pack Michaels bag he is away for his snow vacation now. For only two days then he fly to London for work. So he can also find good spots to go to when we go to London on the 19th. If you have any good ideas or spots we need to see when we’re am in London, please let me know! xxxx
